Mid-Missouri Legal Services extends its sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the 12th Annual Chipping in for Charity Golf Tournament that was held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Columbia Country Club. After a series of cold, rainy days, we were fortunate to enjoy a sunny, warm day. Committee organizers project that the Tournament again raised approximately $16,000 which will be used to fund the MMLS Veterans’ Law Project at the V.A. Hospital in Columbia. Including these funds, the BCBA has donated Golf Tournament proceeds totaling more than $127,000 to charities since its inception!
Congratulations to the Bush & Patchett, LLC team which successfully defended their 2017 victory by again winning Championship Flight this year by shooting a scorching nineteen under par score of 52; their winning score was nineteen under par last year, as well. Other winners were: A Flight – Eng & Woods team of Adam Dowling and friends with a score of 62; B Flight – Lilly’s Cantina Food Truck team with a score of 64; C Flight – Holder Susan and Slusher team with a score of 66; D Flight – The Insurance Shop team with a score of 68; and, E Flight – Smith Lewis LLP team with a score of 72. Congratulations are also in order for the Mid-Missouri Legal Services team for winning the consolation prize for last place/highest score (but probably most fun had) in the tournament which is among the more coveted prizes given away at the tournament. Additional prize winners were: closest-to-the-pin on hole 6: Tim Wilson; closest-to-the-pin on hole 11: Lowell Pearson; closest-to-the-pin on hole 13: Don Hinshaw; closest-to-the-pin on hole 16: Tom Schauwecker; longest putt on hole 9: Don Hinshaw; longest drive (women) on hole 1: Ashley Veatch; longest drive (men) on hole 1: Steve Wilson. The putting contest resulted in a tie between Andrew Kopp and Steve Wilson. MMLS is honored and grateful to receive the Tournament proceeds in 2018 for its Veterans’ Law Project.
