Columbia Family Law Group LLC announces that Aaron McClintic has joined the firm. Aaron is originally from mid-Missouri and has moved back to Columbia after practicing as an attorney at Legal Aid of Western Missouri in their family law division. Aaron will be handling a variety of matters including guardianships, divorce, custody and child support. He will also be serving as Guardian ad Litem. Next BCBA Meeting Scheduled for November 14

The next scheduled event for Boone County Bar Association members will be the regular BCBA meeting, Wednesday, November 14. We will have speakers from the Attorney General’s office and the MU School of Law. The CLE program has been approved for 1.2 hours of CLE credits.

Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. the Broadway Hotel, 1111 E. Broadway. The presentation will begin about noon. A business meeting will precede the program. Lunch will be $14, with checks made out to BCBA. There is metered parkin…

BCBA Holiday Party set for Wednesday, December 12

This year’s Holiday Party will be held at the Country Club of Missouri (off Forum Blvd) on Wednesday, December 12, from 6-8 p.m. Several types of appetizers will be served with cocktails before a dinner buffet. Wine, beer and soft drinks will also be available. More details to come.

Guardian ad Litem Training on November 12

The 13th Circuit will host its annual Guardian Ad Litem training on Veterans Day (Monday, November 12). It is anticipated it will be 3 hours of GAL training, and 3 hours of Mediation for 7.6 hours of CLE, including 1.2 hours of ethics credit. The training will be from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 at the Boone County Courthouse. Registration is $20.00 per person. Please RSVP here by November 5th. The training this year will include Mediator topics to help receive the required annual mediation training.

The Boone County Judicial and The Law Enforcement Force CLE Program 11-28

The Boone County Bar Association and the Boone County Judicial and Law Enforcement Task Force will be presenting a CLE program on Wednesday November 28, 2018 in the chambers at the Boone County Government Center. The program will run from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM and has been approved for one-hour CLE credit. There is no cost to attend.

The presenters will be 13th Circuit Alternative Sentencing Courts Commissioner Casey Clevenger and Boone County Community Services director Kelly Wallis.

MMLS Thanks BCBA for Funds Raised through Golf Tournament

Mid-Missouri Legal Services extends its sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the 12th Annual Chipping in for Charity Golf Tournament that was held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Columbia Country Club. After a series of cold, rainy days, we were fortunate to enjoy a sunny, warm day. Committee organizers project that the Tournament again raised approximately $16,000 which will be used to fund the MMLS Veterans’ Law Project at the V.A. Hospital in Columbia. 12th Annual Chipping in for Charity Golf Tournament October 8th

The 12th annual Chipping in for Charity golf tournament organized by the Community Involvement Committee is scheduled for Monday, October 8, 2018 (Columbus Day – a court holiday). This year’s tournament will be held at Columbia Country Club, 2210 North Country Club Drive. Net proceeds from the tournament will be donated to Mid-Missouri Legal Services, which plans to use the funds for its Veterans Law Project. The tournament is a four-person scramble format, open to both lawyers and non-lawyers. …
