A Note from Judge Carpenter

To the members of the Boone County Bar Association:

Being retired is a very confusing state of affairs. Should I still do the laundry on the weekend? Where is my office? More importantly, where is my IT support? I love the lack of structure at the same time I am missing it. The thing I miss most of all, even in these few short weeks, is my daily interaction with my colleagues on the bench, and the members of the Bar. I was so grateful for the recognition of my work by the monetary gift and the extremely beautiful engraved crystal bowl. Thanks to the generous gift, I have a brand new camera and a ticket to Marrakesh. I am sure this trip will go a long way toward making the state of retirement more acceptable. Thanks to all of you.
