MMLS Thanks BCBA for Funds Raised through Golf Tournament

The 11th Annual Chipping in for Charity Golf Tournament held on October 9th at Gustin Golf Course was a resounding success.  It is estimated that the tournament raised approximately $16,000.00 for Mid-Missouri Legal Services’ Veterans Law Project, which provides pro bono legal services for low income veterans in our community.  Through the 2016 tournament, $95,091.77 has been raised for charity.

Congratulations to the Bush & Patchett, LLC team which successfully defended their 2016 victory by again winning Championship Flight this year by shooting a scorching nineteen under par score of 51.  Other winners were: A Flight – Atwill & Montgomery, LLC team; B Flight – Allen & Nelson, P.C. team; C Flight – Spencer Bartlett, Richard Hicks, Garrett Taylor, and Nick Komoroski team; D Flight – McCausland, Barrett & Bartalos, P.C. team; and, E Flight – Veterans United Home Loans team.  Congratulations are also in order for the Edward Kolkebeck and friends for winning the consolation prize for last place/highest score (but probably most fun had) in the tournament which is among the more coveted prizes given away at the tournament.

The BCBA Community Involvement Committee would like to thank all the generous sponsors, participants, and volunteers who helped make this year’s tournament such a success.  The Committee would like to thank the following sponsors that were especially significant contributors to the tournament: Ace Sponsor: Lear Werts LLP; Eagle Sponsors: Alaris – formerly Midwest Litigation Services, The Bar Plan, Allen & Nelson, P.C., Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center, and Missouri Bar Young Lawyers Section Council; Birdie Sponsors: GilsbarPro; Hospitality Sponsors: Truman’s Bar & Grill and Lilly’s Cantina Food Truck.  Please mark your calendars for the 2018 tournament which is scheduled for Monday, October 8th (Columbus Day).
